Viewers Corner News correspondent in Dhaka reported that not less than seventy eight people lost their lives and many injured in Dhaka (Bangladeshi capital) fire which razed through apartment buildings used as residential and chemical warehouses. The huge fire broke out around 10:40pm local time on Wednesday in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area and about 200 fire fighters were able to bring it under control after 5 hours. According to our correspondent, many bodies were burned beyond recognition and identifying them requires DNA test which would be done later. The fire was believed to have started when a fuel cylinder stored in a car exploded and the fire spread quickly across the area which has narrow streets with buildings very close to each other.
We (Viewers Corner News) send our condolences to the families of those that lost their lives and may the souls of the dead rest in peace.
