Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that not less than twenty one people were killed in a massive landslide in the city of Naga, Cebu (Philippines) and the landslide was caused by heavy rains. Twelve people were pulled alive by the rescue team while many people are trapped alive in the debris of crushed homes. Many of the rescue team were using pickaxes and shovels because it is unsafe to use heavy equipment. Firefighters, navy, army and police joined in the rescue operations but their efforts are being hindered by rains and loose soil.
Philippines, one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire and the country is always hit by earthquakes and volcano eruptions.
