Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that a district court in Tokyo has approved a 10 day custody extension of Carlos Ghosn (former Nissan chairman) on Friday, 30 November 2018. According to the report, the prosecutors requested that court extend Ghosn’s detention to enable them investigate further into his financial irregularities. Ghosn, a Brazilian and one of the most successful executives in the automobile industry was arrested on November 19, 2018 for an alleged financial misconduct and has been in Tokyo Detention Center since then. He was later sacked by Nissan and Mitsubishi where he was a chairman, but he is still the CEO of Renault (the French wing of the three-company alliance). Ghosn was accused of underreported his income and used company’s money to pay for the purchase and upkeep of luxury houses around the world.
